CRUX PPC 2.6 is now available. It works on Apple 32bit “NewWorld” G3/G4 and Apple 64bit G5, Genesi PegasosII and Efika, Acube Sam440ep, IBM RS/6000 CHRP (604e), YDL Powerstation, IBM Intellistation POWER, and IBM pSeries RS64/POWERn.
CRUX PPC 2.6 is, as usual, released via two different installation ISO: 32bit and 64bit. The 32bit version is based on a single lib toolchain instead the 64bit one comes with a multilib toolchain. These two versions share the same ports tree.

finalmente!!! XD
Maybe you get this question all the time, I did notice it mentioned in the handbook and release notes for CRUX PPC 2.6.
When it says “do not try to install on Old World Macs, it will not boot” – do you mean the CD (iso image) as provided, will not boot, or the kernel, ramdisk, other files are compiled so they only work on CPUs from the G3 on?
I ask because in may ways (small size, simplicity, etc.) CRUX PPC should be a good fit for Old World Macs.
If it is only that the iso won’t boot, is there any place to download say only the kernel and ramdisk used during a net install, or a minimal netinstall only image, and would you be interested if I tried to incorporate them in a customized CD image that will boot (other Linux Distros) on an Old World Mac?
Please reply to my email address if so.
It’s because we use yaboot as a bootloader but oldworld machines requires bootX.
Of course, you can try to install cruxppc in netboot in a similar way as stated in this howto http://www.cruxppc.org/Main/EfikaInstall for the efika.
For further question you can use the cruxppc’s forum, http://www.cruxppc.org/forum/
Thank you.
